Jenson & Nicholson Exterior Penetrative Wood Stain

Lignin is a fibrous compound that holds the wood together. When sunlight is exposed on bare wood for a prolonged period, lignin is broken down and it leaves a gray surface. When such wood is exposed to rain, water seeps inside the wood and rots it. Hence it is imperative to keep the exterior wood safe by either painting or applying an exterior transparent stain. While paint seals the wood under an opaque film, the iron pigments called trans-oxides present in the exterior wood stains blocks the effect of sunlight without damaging the wood’s grain. They impart a warm tint, are subtle in color and exhibit the wood grain and the texture neatly. Further, the exterior wood stains are easy to apply and are resistant to peeling off. Sheenlac’s Exterior Penetrative Wood Stains are transparent-type wood stains that can be used both on the exterior and interior woodworks. They contain trans-oxide pigment with suitable binders.
