Bluemax Acrylic Sealant (MASTIC)

Description

 Bluemax Acrylic Sealant (Mastic) is a single component acrylic sealant specially designed for pointing on all common building surface. Which when curing forms a flexible seal which can accommodate moisture and thermal movements with minimal shrinkage.lt is highly elastomeric and gives excellent adhesion to most building substrates like metal, aluminium etc. Bluemax Acrylic Sealant (Mastic) is ready to use sealant. No mixing is required. It can be used without primer in new substrates.

 Bluemax Acrylic Sealant (Mastic) is universal compound ideal for roof flashing, details, patching of cracks and splits in roofs, repair or flashing details, roof busters, roof curbs, vent pipes, skylights, spouts, wall and foundation.

Preparation of surface

 Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are brushed and scraped away; also ensure the joint is solid, free of salts, oil, grease and ridges. Clean aluminium surfaces with white spirit. On a firm, dust-free surfaces the use of a primer is not necessary. For surfaces that show signs of constant dusting or flaking, or for joints where constant high movement is anticipated.

Application

 The surface must be cleaned and free of dust, dirt, grease & oil. Over concrete, metal or brittle asphalt surfaces, it does not require any heating or thinning. It can be applied with trowel or putty knife.

Coverage

One course application: 2.5-2.6kg/ M²
Two-course application: 4.9-5.0kg/ M²
(Allow a 1st course to cure 8 hours before installing a 2nd course.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place and keep away from direct sunlight.

Shelf Life: 12 months in unopened original packing, if stored properly.
